Every horse who comes through our gates needs more than food and shelter — they need time, connection, enrichment, and the kind of steady human presence that helps them heal. Volunteers make that possible.

Whether you’re helping care for our Sanctuary Horses, supporting our adoption program, or lending your creative skills behind the scenes, you become part of the heart of our mission.

Why volunteers matter

Heart N Soul is a small, hands‑on rescue. Our horses come from difficult pasts — kill pens, neglect situations, or homes where they were no longer safe. Many arrive needing medical care, patient handling, and months of quiet consistency.

Volunteers help us provide:

  • Daily enrichment and companionship

  • Grooming and gentle handling

  • Light exercise for horses who are sound

  • Clean, safe living spaces

  • Photos, videos, and stories that help us educate and inspire

Ways you can help

    • Kind, patient people

    • Comfortable around animals (or willing to learn)

    • Reliable and able to follow safety guidelines

    • Age 16+ (or younger with a guardian)

  • Perfect for horse‑experienced volunteers. Tasks may include:

    • Grooming

    • Hand‑walking

    • Pasture companionship

    • Enrichment activities

    • Assisting with feeding or mucking (optional)

    This work is quiet, grounding, and deeply meaningful — especially for our introverted or recovering horses.

  • For volunteers with riding or training experience. Some of our horses benefit from light groundwork, in‑hand exercises, or confidence‑building walks.

    Riding opportunities are limited and based on skill, safety, and the horse’s needs.

  • If you love storytelling, photography, or social media, this role is invaluable. We need help with:

    • Capturing photos and short videos

    • Writing uplifting rescue‑focused captions

    • Helping maintain a consistent posting schedule

    • Creating reels or educational content

    This is a great option for volunteers who want to support the rescue but can’t be on‑site regularly.
